Berlin in the Third Reich – by public transport

Still today you may discover remnants of the Third Reich in Berlin's townscape, despite all World War II damages. Pictures of the Nazi torchlight procession passing through under Brandenburg Gate, of the Reichstag burning on 27th February 1933 or of the Book Burning on the 10th May 1933, all reproduced in every history book, get a new effect if you can link them with a real place in Berlin. As well the plans for Berlin's remodelling into the world's capital "Germania" that should be finished in 1950, are explained by our tourist guide. This tour gives you an idea of life in the times of National Socialism, shows you places of German history and points out how the city of Berlin deals with its historic heritage today.

You'll see:

Olympic Stadium, Tempelhof Airport, Italian and Japanese Embassy, former ministries of the Reich, the previous headquarters of Gestapo and SS, Victory Column, Avenue of the 17th June, Brandenburg Gate, Paris Square, Holocaust Memorial, "Unter den Linden" Boulevard, places of the German Resistance, like the Memorial in Stauffenbergstrasse or in Rosenstrasse.
